We continue to find ourselves in the Season of Easter: as the children know, Easter is such a GREAT Mystery it can’t be held in just one Sunday, it spills over into six more weeks and helps prepare for the coming of the Mystery of Pentecost. This period is a transition between Jesus’ earthly ministry and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is a time when the disciples and others began to know Jesus in a new way. He is neither simply human nor simply spiritual. He is completely both in a way that is anything but simple.  The series of seven stories called,  “Knowing Jesus in a New Way” from Volume 8 of the Complete Guide to Godly Play books helps tell of that time of knowing Jesus in a new way.

The following videos have been made and uploaded to YouTube by Trinity Episcopal Church in Tennessee. The videos are set in their Godly Play room and show the first four parts of the Knowing Jesus in a New Way stories. The first video shows parts 1 and 2, and the second video shows parts 3 and 4.

As you see at the end of the session, the story-teller invites the children to find something that they can add to help in the telling of the story. You might encourage your child to do the same, or to perhaps draw something that they liked best in the story.  Or maybe they can re-tell part of the story. Or act it out…. ?
