Godly Play Online: Knowing Jesus in a New Way Continued

This week’s Godly Play stories follows on from the previous weeks: we hear parts 5 and 6 of the “Knowing Jesus in a New Way” stories from Volume 8 of the Complete Guide to Godly Play books. These seven stories help tell of that time of knowing Jesus in a new way: the time of transition between Jesus’ earthly ministry and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is a time when the disciples and others began to know Jesus in a new way. He is neither simply human nor simply spiritual. He is completely both in a way that is anything but simple.  

The following videos have been made and uploaded to YouTube by Trinity Episcopal Church in Tennessee. The videos are set in their Godly Play room and show the progression of the Knowing Jesus in a New Way stories. The first video shows part 5, and the second video shows part 6.

As you will see at the end of each session, the story-teller invites the children to find something that can add to help in the telling of the story. You might encourage our child to do the same, or to perhaps draw something that they liked best in the story.  Or maybe they can re-tell part of the story. Or act it out….?
