Easter 6 – 25 May 2025

Greetings St. George’s community,
Thank you so much to Roy and Sue who hosted us for a beautiful Ecopilgrimage on their farm, thank you to all the wild creatures that prayed with us, and thank you to everyone who has worked so, so hard on the many projects and activities this month: preparing meals, washing dishes, delivering barbeques and fridges, cleaning the church, planning and organizing. We are so grateful to all of you. Several of our guests at the Ecopilgrimage remarked afterwards what a kind, friendly and hospitable community this is!
The last two big events this month, the Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation and the Blanket Exercise in preparation and Diocesan Synod, our bi-annual regional decision-making meeting, are still ahead of us. I encourage you to give both of these your support: take part in the blanket exercise and the walk, pray for, support and listen to our Lay Synod Delegates: Marian Moats and Mandy Williams and our Clergy Delegates, Eileen and myself as we participate in these important and sometimes stressful meetings on your behalf. I invite you to pray for us using this prayer for a synod:
Source of All Wisdom and Understanding,
be present with those who take counsel for the renewal and mission of your Church.
Teach them in all things to seek first your honour and glory.
Guide them to perceive what is right, and grant them both
the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Please register for and participate in the Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation. This is an important local opportunity to have our actions line up with the words we say every week in our territorial acknowledgement. More information and registration can be found on their website: Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation
